Lisa L. Cangemi is a
graduate of the School of Visual Arts, with a BFA Honors Degree in
Graphic Design, also with a minor in Photography and Illustration,
and a MFA in Graphic Design and Marketing.
Lisa established her own graphic design business C&C Graphic Design
in 1985, when she began art directing & designing at Grey Advertising
and various publishing companies, art directing & designing editorial
and promotional projects.
Lisa continues to art direct for numerous companies. Her work involves
designing and art directing projects such as logos/corporate ID and
logo applications, brochures and promotional materials, media kits,
magazine designand redesign, advertisements & ad campaigns, computer
illustration & icons, charts & graphs, websites and website
graphics, newsletters, book jackets and book interior design, package
design, posters, annual reports, trade show booths, and photography
& illustration.
Lisa’s art direction work has won her over 3 dozen national
design-industry awards. She is a recent winner of 3 American Graphic
Design Awards in 2007 for Promotional Pieces she art directed and
designed.
Lisa
is an active painter, and participates in numerous exhibitions at
galleries and libraries in the tristate area each year. She has been
exhibiting her work since 1991, and has won several painting awards
from NY art leagues. She paints in a representational style, using
acrylic paints on canvas. Lisa is involved in various art groups across
Long Island.
She is an active board member of the TriCounty Artists of Long Island,
and amember of West End Arts League, Long Beach, NY and The Artists
Group of L.I. She is one of the founding members of the LHS Art Alumni
Association and currently works as a chairperson for the LHSAAA. Lisa
has also been a judge for numerous art competitions and events on
L.I. She has held lectures at L.I. and NYC events.
Lisa
is an adjunct profesor of Graphic Design and Art at Briarcliffe College
on Long Island, and is Exhibit Coordinator at Briarcliffe’s
Patchogue, NY Campus. She
instructs continuing-education art & design classes in the Hewlett-Woodmere
district.
She is listed in Marquis Who’s Who of American Women(since 1987)
and
awarded by Sterling Who’s Who (since 1991) for outstanding work
in a
chosen field, and by Cambridge International Who’s Who of American
Business Women for her excellence in Graphic Design. In 2007 Lisa
was given a National Alpha Beta Kappa Honorary Award for excellence
she has performed in her field.
