This is an exhibition of Andrew LaBarbera's earlier works on canvas. This particular series of work played a very crucial part in Andrew's artistic development. The emergence of strong, bold lines and forms, which define his current pen and ink work, become evident in this series.

Andrew LaBarbera is a local artist based in Long Beach New York. Andrew was born in Brooklyn, New York in 1970. He studied art and graphic design at the Manhattan Campus of New York Institute of Technology, were he received a BFA in Graphic Design.

Andrew is currently employed as a graphic artist onLong Beach, New York. While working at ING Investment Management in Manhattan, he received the Circle of Honor Award for his artistic contributions to the ING Managed Account Group website and marketing materials.

From an early age Andrew has demonstrated a natural proficiency for drawing and creativity.

Andrew draws in pen and ink, illustrating the whimsical and the macabre. His art reflects the psychological and spiritual conditions of his world in this period in history. His art brings us back to our roots, our magic and our mystery, in a world that has become increasingly mechanical and depersonalized.
