February 2006 meeting was Peggy Leder, a clinical art therapist shows us how creative self-expression improves self esteem. Through the art process individuals can often approach difficult issues and a healing process can be facilitated. Creative expression improves self esteem, self awareness, as well as enhances the physical, mental and emotional well being of individuals of all ages. Through the art process, individuals can often approach difficult issues and convey a message more clearly and safely than with words alone. Expressing these emotions through color, form, shape, and image releases their hold on the body, mind and spirit, clearing the way for healing to occur.
